Sky City, Changsha. Rendering courtesy of Broad Sustainable Building Sky City (Chinese: 天空城市; pinyin: tiānkōng chéngshì), or Sky City One, is an 838 m (2,749 ft) tall planned skyscraper in the city of Changsha, Hunan in south-central China. The project is currently undergoing environmental assessment. The prospective builders, Broad Sustainable Building, estimated it would take just 90 days to construct, but this is not counting 120 days of prefabrication before on-site work commences; the total schedule is 210 days. Pre-construction activities were halted in August 2013 after government regulators required additional approvals. If the project is approved and completed as planned, it would become the tallest building in the world, 10 m (33 ft) taller than the current record holder, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai.
