Wind turbine at sunrise, Goulais Wind Farm

The 25-megawatt Goulais Wind Farm is on private land within the Townships of Pennefather and Aweres in the district of Algoma. The wind farm site includes 11 Siemens S113-2.3MW turbines and is located on the plateau between Highway 17 and the Prince II Wind Farm at distances of approximately 5 kilometres northwest of Heyden and 5 km south of Goulais River. The project has a 20-year Feed-in-Tariff (FIT) contract with the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) expiring in 2035.
