Everest is a 2015 American 3D historical biography action adventure climate-disaster thriller film edited and directed by Baltasar Kormákur and written by Justin Isbell, William Nicholson, Mark Medoff and Academy Award winner Simon Beaufoy. The film stars Jason Clarke, Josh Brolin, John Hawkes, Robin Wright, Michael Kelly, Sam Worthington, Keira Knightley, Emily Watson and Jake Gyllenhaal.



The film is set for a September 18, 2015 release date. It is based on the real events of the 1996 Mount Everest disaster and bestselling non-fiction novel Into Thin Air: A Personal Account of the Mt. Everest Disaster by Jon Krakauer. There were two expedition groups led by Scott Fischer (played by Jake Gyllenhaal) and Rob Hall (played by Jason Clarke) each, who tried to climb the mountain.
