A massive F4 Category tornado closes in on a storm chaser’s van minutes after it destroyed much of Manchester, South Dakota. Tornadoes occur on every continent except Antarctica, but are most common in the mid-latitudes of the Northern and Southern hemispheres, making the flat plains of the central U.S. especially susceptible.
