Ankylosaurus is the largest known armoured dinosaur. Its bony plates, club tail and the four large pyramid-shaped horns projecting from its skull puts this creature up there among the most armoured animals of all time.
Ankylosaurus lived along the western shore of a shallow sea which divided the west and east of North America during the Cretaceous. Home was a coastal plain with a sub-tropical, warm, humid climate. Ankylosaurus fossils have been found alongside those of Triceratops, Troodon and Tyrannosaurus.
